SALON DE ALFURD

SALON DE ALFURD is a brand focusing on leather bags, wallets, and small leather goods (SLG).The brand offers carefully selected luxury materials and creations based on the concept of "sophistication and playfulness.

The roots of the brand are in a dyeing workshop established in 1966.

The brand was named ALFURD, short for ALL FUR DYEING, to express the desire to dye all furs as they are desired.

The founder focused on beautiful colors.

No two furs are alike.In other words, even if the same color is used for dyeing, it does not always come out the same way.The spirit of the founder, who pursued the ideal color each time, became the foundation for establishing the brand.
The founder's insatiable pursuit of beauty is still carried on in our "craftsmanship" today.Beautiful colors, carefully selected materials, fit, lightness, versatility, and beautiful tailoring...we are always thinking of ways to take our bags one step higher than the current level.Because we believe that a sophisticated item can be the one that has it all.

History
The founder's insatiable pursuit of
color that has not yet been seen

The roots of Salon de Alphard can be traced back to 1966. Founder Kazuo Mitsuda established a new fur dyeing technique by applying his expertise in photo developing technology.He later became independent and established Mitsuda Industries.

In 1978, the company grew to include a factory for sewing fur and other garments. In 1987, the company opened a showroom.At the same time, the company started retail and wholesale business of leather garments.

In the late 1990s, the company began designing bags and accessories using high quality natural materials.In his search for originality, he turned to the techniques that had been cultivated over a long period of time by his predecessors. By mixing this unique technology, the latest designs, and imagination, we could create products that could travel the world.With this in mind, the current president (the third generation) launched SALON DE ALFURD with the aim of "creating a Japanese brand that can be accepted around the world.

This is where the production of full-scale original items began.At first, our main products were small accessories, but now we have a wide range of lineup including leather bags and smartphone accessories. Our products are widely available through our online store, directly managed stores, and department stores nationwide.

We will continue to devote our efforts to ensure that the items we create with all of our hands and hearts reach people in Japan and around the world, and that they will inspire and energize them when they are held in their hands.

SALON DE ALFURD's products are manufactured in our own atelier and affiliated workshops.Some of our products are manufactured not only in Japan but also in overseas ateliers.In this case, we believe in selecting a workshop with the highest technical skills that meets the standard of Japan quality, which is considered to be the strictest in the world. All of our products are inspected and quality-controlled under a strict quality control system in Japan.

SALON DE ALFURD's manufacturing process begins with an image of how the product will be used in the hands of the customer, and in what situations. Next, we think about
how the products will enrich people's lives.The next thing to think about is,
Will the product enrich my life?Does the casual "playfulness" evoke positive feelings?The design team is constantly thinking about these questions and more.

We believe that this seemingly roundabout process is what allows us to create innovative, customer-focused products that are unlike anything else on the market.We take our well-thought-out ideas and sublimate them through collaboration with creative materials, parts makers, craftsmen, and fashionistas from all over the world.

Mitsuda Industries, founded by my grandfather and succeeded by my father, celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2016, and SALON DE ALFURD celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2017. It has not been a simple road, but we have been able to overcome this obstacle because of our customers.
"Creating a world-class Japanese luxury brand" is a phrase I have kept in mind since the launch of SALON DE ALFURD.

Before founding Salon de Alphard, I traveled around Europe as a backpacker.When I went abroad, I strongly felt the world's keen interest in Japanese products.In particular, automobiles and electronics were outstanding, and many Japanese products were established "brands.In fashion, on the other hand, few Japanese brands have made inroads into the global market, and they are especially rare in the luxury sector.Traditional luxury brands from Italy and France dominate the market.

From a cultural aspect, it is natural to admire things from other countries.It is quite natural for Japanese people to find value in foreign products, and conversely, for people from overseas to find value in Japanese products. If so, we would like to create such a wave not only in the automobile and electronics industries, but also in the fashion industry. I remember being convinced that fashion items that are uniquely Japanese, with the care and spirit of attention to detail, would surely be appreciated by people overseas.Furthermore, creating fashion items that are appreciated abroad undeniably brings pride to the Japanese people.Such a series of value chain is of great social significance.Our strong desire to create a brand that can do such a thing led us to establish the company.

It has been 10 years since we started the brand.We have learned that total production is essential for planning, developing, and manufacturing innovative and unique products, and above all, creating items that delight our customers.

Although we have been in business for 50 years, our brand is still young, only 10 years old, and because of our youth, there are many things that are still in our infancy.We will continue to pursue our dreams by carefully addressing each and every one of them and never neglecting our efforts.And we will devote ourselves to delivering products and services that attract more and more people.

Hiroki Mitsuda was born on June 29, 1981.Born in Saitama, Japan.
Graduated from the School of Science and Engineering, Waseda University in 2004.
Graduated from Waseda University in 2006 with a Master's degree in Science and Engineering.After completing graduate school, he joined a headhunting company.During this time, he interacted with more than 300 presidents and executives, and discovered that the common denominator of successful people is their "passion" for what they want to accomplish.He aspired to create a world-class brand in the field of fashion, the field he was most passionate about.
After leaving the company in 2007, he traveled to 45 cities in 24 European countries to study fashion and art.Upon returning to Japan, he began helping out in the family business when his father became ill and started the SALON DE ALFURD brand.
In 2009, he became the representative director.
